Neither of your half-brains goes around calling itself "I" and proclaims itself as an autonomous soul! Rather, the two of them together make just one "I." And so we should have no trouble with the idea that the same hopes and dreams can inhabit two different people's brains, especially when those two people live together for years. The sharing of so much aligns our souls and in some dimensions of life turns us into a single unit that acts as a whole, much as a school of fish acts as a single-minded higher-level entity. |
